May 13

The DOW pivoted off the trend line yesterday ending the session up 130 points. The S&P bounced off the trend line closing the session up 15 points, the NASDAQ finished up 42 points. The FTSE, writes Greg, 100 gapped higher at the open but fell back during the day before putting in a rallied to close the session up 15 points. Futures – DOW is called flat and FTSE is called up 20 points. Oil is trading $123.37 a barrel and gold is trading at $879.40.

May 09

The DOW tested the 12800 level during the session yesterday ending the day up 52 points. The S&P added 5 points and the NASDAQ closed up 12 points. The FTSE, writes Greg, 100 gapped lower at the open but trended higher during the session ending the day up 9 points. Futures – DOW is called down 80 points, FTSE is called down 35 points. Oil continues to set new highs and is trading at $124.68 a barrel, gold is trading at $884.50.

May 08

After a sideways start to the session the DOW eventually broke the 13,000 level falling all the way back to the 12800 level ending the day down 206 points. The S&P fell 25 points, the NASDAQ fell 44 points. The FTSE, writes Greg, 100 gapped higher at the open and held on to the gains ending the day up 45 points. Futures – DOW is called up 40 points, FTSE is called down 25 points. Oil is trading at $123.58 a barrel and gold at $868.80. 

May 07

The DOW fell back to the 12,900 level at the open where it bounced and traded higher for the rest of the session ending the day up 51 points. The S&P added 10 points and the NASDAQ added 19. The FTSE, writes Greg, 100 traded lower for most of the session before putting in a rally at the close to end the session flat. Futures – DOW is called down 25 points, FTSE is called up 10 points. Oil continues to set new highs and is currently trading at $121.63 a barrel and gold at $878.60.

May 02

After a small drop at the open the DOW turned around and rallied for the rest of the session ending the day up 189 points and above the 13,000 level. The S&P added 23 points closing above the 1400 level and 200 ema, the NASDAQ surged through the 200 ema closing the day up 67 points. The FTSE, writes Greg, 100 had another sideways session ending the day flat and still below the 6100 level. Futures – DOW is called flat, FTSE is called up 30 points. Oil is trading at $111.90 a barrel and gold at $852.60. 

May 01

The DOW pushed higher from the open but ran into the 13,000 level but following the Fed rate decision it turned and fell 200 points to close the day down 11 points. The S&P 500 broke the 1400 level but fell at the end of the session to end down 5 points, the NASDAQ fell back from the 200 ema closing down 13 points. The FTSE, writes Greg, 100 fell in morning trading down to 6040 where it rallied up to 6120 but ended a volatile session down 2 points. Futures – DOW is called up 10 points, FTSE is called down 15 points. Oil is trading at $114.60 a barrel and gold at $877.40.
