The DOW fell some 170 points in the first few hours of trading yesterday, but did put in a recovery to the close ending the session down 108 points. The S&P closed down 13 points and the NASDAQ fell 25 points. The FTSE, writes Greg, 100 traded higher at the open to reach the 6750 resistance level but could not break this level and fell off to the close ending the session down 86 points. Futures – DOW is called down 5 points, FTSE is called flat. Oil is trading at new highs at $86.55 a barrel, gold is trading at $762.

The DOW closed the session on Friday up 77 points as it continues to build a consolidation at the highs. The S&P added 7 points, the NASDAQ added 33 points. The FTSE, writes Greg, 100 gapped lower at the open but rallied during the session to close the day up 6 points as it trades near to the years highs. Futures – DOW is called up 15 points, FTSE is called flat. Oil is trading at $83.70 a barrel and gold at $755.

The DOW continues its pull back from the highs closing the session down 79 points. The S&P fell 7 points and the NASDAQ pulled back 17 points. The FTSE, writes Greg, 100 gapped higher at the open and added 34 points at the close. The FTSE, writes Greg, 250 closed up 128 points. Futures – DOW is called flat, FTSE is called down 20 points. Oil is trading at $79.75 a barrel and gold at $724. – Watch out for the news at 12:00 today from the Bank of England about interest rates

After the breakout yesterday the DOW consolidated falling back 40 points but still above the 14,000 level. The S&P closed level, the NASDAQ up 6 points. The FTSE, writes Greg, 100 gapped higher at the open to break out of its consolidation but could not hold on to its gains closing the session down 5 points back at the 6500 level. The FTSE, writes Greg, 250 gapped higher at the open and held on to the gains to close up 150 points and back above the 50 and 200 ema’s. Futures – DOW is called down 15 points, FTSE is called up 8 points. Oil is trading at $80.25 a barrel and gold at $734.5.
