The DOW fell at the open and ended the day down 147 points to the 13200 level watch this level for break or bounce. The S&P closed down 21 points and the NASDAQ down 42 points. FTSE 100 down 25 points, seems to be finding some resistance at the top of the channel. But the FTSE 250 added 5 points. Futures – DOW is called up 25 points, FTSE was called down 25 points. Oil is trading at $61.70 a barrel and gold is trading at $669.Â
The DOW ended the day adding 53 points to close at a new record high of 13362. The S&P added 4 and the NASDAQ added 4 to both closed at a new 6 year high. The FTSE, writes Greg, 100 jumped at the open, but fell back during the session and closed down 1 point. The FTSE, writes Greg, 250 closed down 50 points. Futures – The DOW is called down 25 points, FTSE is called up 7 points. Oil is trading at $63.10 a barrel and gold at $679.
The DOW traded lower during the session but rallied to the closed to finish the day down 3 points at 13309. The S&P closed down 1 point and the NASDAQ up 1 point as they both traded lower at the open and rallied to the close. The FTSE, writes Greg, 100 traded lower all day and closed down 53 points and the FTSE 250 fell 103 points. Futures – DOW is called up 5 points, FTSE is called up 25 points. Oil is trading at $63.90 a barrel and gold is trading at $685. Keep an eye on the mining stocks today after RIO closed up 6.5% overnight in Asia on rumours of a possible takeover bid.
The DOW closed up Friday 23 points and Monday up 48 points and now sits at a new all time high of 13313.The S&P added 3 points on both Friday and Monday and closed at a new 6 year high at 1509. The NASDAQ added 6 points on Friday but lost 1 point on Monday. The FTSE, writes Greg, 100 added 65 points on Friday to close above the 6600 level at a new 6 year high. The DOW closed the day up 29 points at a new all time high at 13241. The S&P added 6 and broke out to a new 6 year high above the 1500 level at 1502. The NASDAQ also finished at a new 6 year high by adding 7 points to close at 2565. The FTSE, writes Greg, 100 gapped above the 6500 level at the open and held on to its gain to the close to finish up 53 points at a new 6 year high. Futures – DOW is called up 5 points, FTSE is called up 5 points. Oil is trading at $65 a barrel and gold at $681. Keep an eye on the Non Farm Payroll numbers from the US due out at 13:30.Â
The DOW pushed higher yesterday closing up 75 points at a new all time high of 13211. The S&P closed up 9 points but ran into some resistance at 1500. The NASDAQ closed up 26 and found some resistance at the previous high. The FTSE, writes Greg, 100 added 65 points and closed at 6484. The DOW traded lower through out the session but rallied at the close to finish up 73 points and continues to trade within its consolidation range at the highs. The S&P added 4 points and the NASDAQ added 6 points as they also found some support during the session and rallied to the close. The FTSE, writes Greg, 100 fell at the open and closed the day down 29 points as it continues to trade between the 6400 and 6500 levels which it has done for most of April, watch for a break of this range for an indication of market direction.
