May 31

The DOW tested low at the open to find its feet then rallied during the session to close up 111 points at a new high of 13633. The S&P 500 Had a good day long closing up 12 points at 1530 and the NASDAQ closed up 20 points closing at 2592. The FTSE, writes Greg, was called down quiet considerably yesterday to test its support line then pivoted back to close the day down 4 points. Futures – DOW called up 30 points, FTSE called up 36 points. Oil is trading at $63.43 a barrel and Gold is trading at $657.7.

May 30

The DOW closed the day up 14 points at 13521. The S&P 500 had a day of gains to add 2 points closing at 1518 and the NASDAQ rallied at the close to finish the day up 14 points closing at 2572. The FTSE, writes Greg, was called up at the open and continued to show strength closing the day up 36 points at 6606. Futures – DOW called down 29 points, FTSE called down 34 points. Oil is trading at $63.19 a barrel and gold is trading at $658.2.

May 25

The DOW opened the day strong to test new intraday highs before falling back sharply to close the day down 85 points at 13505. The S&P 500 fell sharply at its open to break down through its channel falling 14 points to close at 1515. The NASDAQ also had a pull back closing down 39 points at 2551. The FTSE, writes Greg, also had a sell off down 51 points to close at 6560, watch for a bounce or break of 20ema on daily chart. Futures – Dow is called down 34 points, FTSE is called down 11 points, Oil is trading at $64.58 a barrel and gold is trading at $655.6. 

 

May 24

The DOW rallied at the open to close the day down 14 points at 13587. The S&P 500 also had a strong push at the open to close down 1 point at 1530. NASDAQ fell 10 points to end the session at 2596. The FTSE, writes Greg, traded up at the open to end the day up 9 points closing at 6616. Futures – DOW is called down 68 points, FTSE is called down 22 points, Oil is trading at $65.90 a barrel and Gold is trading at $662.4. 

 

May 23

The DOW touched on intraday highs to fall back during the session to close down 2 points at 13540. The S&P 500 closed down 1 point to close at 1523 and the NASDAQ climbed 9 points to close at 2577. The FTSE, writes Greg, 100 looks to have bounced off the top of its channel but traded sideways most of the day before falling towards the close down 30 points at 6606. Futures – Dow called up 10 points, FTSE called flat. Oil is trading at $65.68 a barrel and Gold is trading at $660.8. 

May 22

The DOW tested new intraday highs to pull back and close down 13 points at 13566. The S&P 500 also tested new 52 week intraday highs and close up 2 points at 1526, the NASDAQ closed up 20 points to close at 2582. FTSE 100 opened the day strong to test new intraday highs then fell back towards the close to finish the day down 4 points at 6636. Futures – DOW called down 19 points, FTSE called up 8 points. Oil is trading at $66.96 a barrel and gold is trading at $663. 

May 21

The DOW opened strong on Friday to close yet again at a new high up 79 points at 13523. The S&P 500 closed at new year highs to close up 10 points at 1517, watch for a break of 1530 near all time highs. The NASDAQ closed up 19 points to end the week at 2545. FTSE 100 broke out of resistance at 6600 to set new years high, up 61 points at 6640. Futures – Dow is called up 37 points, FTSE called up 25 points. Oil is trading at $66.24 a barrel and Gold is $661.5. 

 

May 18

The DOW set new intraday highs before falling back to close down 10 points, watch for a break of 13500. The S&P 500 set new yearly intraday highs to close down 1 point and the NASDAQ closed the day down 8. The FTSE, writes Greg, 100 traded up 19 points, watch for break of 6600. FTSE 250 up 41 points at the close. Futures – DOW called down 20 points, FTSE is called down 21 points. Oil is trading at $64.86 a barrel and gold at $657.3. 

May 17

The DOW closed at an all time high up 103 at 13488 followed by the S&P 500 up 12 points to close at a new high for the year of 1514 and the NASDAQ closed up 22 points. Despite the strength in the US the FTSE 100 finished the day down 9 points to close at 6559. The FTSE, writes Greg, 250 finished the day up 10 points closing at 12,102. Futures – DOW is called down 6 points, FTSE is called up 25 points. Oil is trading at $62.68 a barrel, gold at $663.70. 

 

May 16

The DOW rallied during the day to new all time highs but did pull back at the close to finish up 37 points at a new all time closing high of 13383. The S&P is finding some resistance at the highs and ended the day down 2 points. The NASDAQ has fallen below its 20 ema and closed the day down 21 points. The FTSE, writes Greg, 100 traded mainly sideways yesterday adding 13 points at the close. The FTSE, writes Greg, 250 added 54 points. Futures – DOW is called up 20 points, FTSE is called down 25 points. Oil is trading at $64.60 a barrel and gold is trading at $672.80.
